Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: OLIVIA

Jockey: Gwingwizha J - Trainer: Tarry S

OLIVIA is much better than her last start suggests. She found herself in front, but tired in the latter stages. The drop back to the six furlongs should suit her well. She gets the blinkers fitted for the first time today and if the headgear has the desired effect, she should be the one to beat.

Race 2: ACCOMPLISHED

Jockey: Habib C  - Trainer: Fortune A

ACCOMPLISHED ran a decent race in his last start over the minimum trip on this course. He lost a length at the start that day, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. The son of Potala Palace will enjoy the extra furlong on offer and may find himself in the winner's enclosure.

Race 3: NUSSPLY

Jockey: Ferraris L J - Trainer: Peter P

NUSSPLY showed good improvement in his last start over this C&D. He was fitted with the blinkers that day which obviously kept his mind on the job at hand. The son of Indigo Magic looks progressive and may have more to come.

Race 8: ARAPAHO

Jockey: Brown S - Trainer: Peter P

ARAPAHO ran a very good race in his last start despite getting squeezed at the start. He shows pace in his races and with a bit of luck out the gates, may be hard to peg back in the latter stages. He is having his peak run this afternoon and should be cherry-ripe.

Race 6: JIVE EXPRESS

Jockey: Brown S Trainer: Gray St John

JIVE EXPRESS finished 1.25 lengths behind STATELY HOME in her last start over ten furlongs at Turffontein Racecourse. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Sherman Brown retains the ride this afternoon and he will know how to get the best out of the mare.
